Castle Rock Citizens for SCFD

What is the SCFD?

SCFD is the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District in Colorado, distributing more than $60 million annually to seven counties and 320 organizations on the Front Range. The SCFD supports nonprofit organizations bringing Cultural History, Natural History, Natural Sciences, Performing Arts, and Visual Arts to the area, but not currently in Castle Rock, CO.

Castle Rock Can Gain Big Benefits

Castle Rock, CO is currently missing out on benefits available to Douglas County and surrounding areas, including Parker, Lone Tree, and Highlands Ranch. Nineteen Castle Rock schools, and many local organizations are cut out from funding for programs.

Why is Time Critical? We Need to Act Now.

SCFD only admits new areas when the legislation is renewed. The last opportunity was 12 years ago. Castle Rock needs to vote on this initiative by 2025 to be eligible for inclusion in the SCFD legislation renewal of 2030. We’re pushing for a 2024 ballot initiative to join the areas that are receiving these benefits, which already includes the rest of Douglas County.
